ME Treatment and Cure
Welcome to the ME Treatment Clinic

At the ME Treatment Clinic our therapists treat Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME / CFS) and all of the associated symptoms using a comprehensive range of techniques. These have been developed through extensive experience of the condition, treatment and recovery. All of the therapists involved with the ME Treatment Clinic have extensive training and have the highest level of alternative medicine accreditation with the NHS Trusts’ Association, as well as with the relevant alternative medicine bodies. The ME treatments used have been developed through extensive research and analysis, through practical and theoretical means, of the ME treatments available. The co-founder himself made a full recovery from ME / CFS in the late 1990s and this led him to establish the ME Treatment Clinic here in the West Midlands.

This is his history of the onset, treatment and recovery from ME / CFS:

‘Late in 1994 I contracted ME / CFS; earlier that year I was a healthy young student looking forward to starting university. Unfortunately though my university experience was not to be as I expected. An operation in the summer was followed by many coursers of antibiotics and, more significantly, by some fairly notable stress and a tendency to burn the candle at both ends; as a result I became heavily ‘run down’. As is the tendency with ME/CFS I didn’t then rest and try to recover, I pushed on, working harder to keep up because of my reduced energy levels. I started to regularly fall prey to colds and flu which led on to chronic exhaustion. As my immune system became weaker and weaker I developed allergies to dust, perfume and a range of other particulates. I found I needed more and more sleep to give me some energy during the day, until day and night blurred into one, with insomnia at night and no energy during the daytime. I became physically less and less strong and after a short period of time I found walking, even a very short distance, led to rapid exhaustion. If I tried to partake in some very gentle activity the following day I would feel total exhaustion. I was no longer able to concentrate as my mind was constantly spinning with thoughts and memories. I was no longer living I was merely existing, a painful, unpleasant existence it was to.

‘After a while fighting against the condition I made an appointment to see my GP. He was very considerate and after a comprehensive range of tests diagnosed CFS and offered me the help of a support group and some amitriptyline (a tri-cyclic antidepressant used in low doses to help with sleep) but no treatment for ME / CFS. He also recommended I took regular walks, which, once I had a little more energy, I found beneficial. Although I greatly appreciated the support, I soon realised he couldn’t help any further with my condition. A referral to a neurologist led to no further advances in the management of my condition so I felt I had no alternative other than to start my own search for a treatment for ME / CFS.’
